As you can well imagine, there are frustrations for a claircognizant person because you suddenly know, but you often can’t tell people why or how you know. If you are aware of your other clairvoyant abilities or clairaudient abilities, it can make it a bit easier to explain to people.

You can say, “I had a flash of that floor plan not working in that corner.” You can say, “I don’t know, but when he described losing his watch I suddenly heard ‘stairwell.’” You at least have a clear intuition and information to start a conversation with.

When it is, “I don’t know; I just know,” people really can’t say anything to that and are often left in the dark in some way, and you may be quite frustrated if people don’t take your suggestions seriously. It is well worth developing your gifts more to see which of the clairs is strongest in you, so you can communicate the valuable intuitive information to others.

I had a lot of claircognizance as a child and into my teens before I could articulate what was going on and why my knowing was right. I always knew when people weren’t happy, when they were hiding their true feelings, and what those true feelings were—even though most would never admit to having them.

One of the stronger examples I have of claircognizance was during my arrival in Montreal and my application to Dawson College. I applied for interior design school and came to visit Montreal twice looking for apartments before I found the right one. One day a letter came from Dawson College and I realized, “Oh my God, I moved here before I even knew for sure I got into the program!” But I just knew I would—to the point that I moved three hours away to a different culture.

I love when the moments of knowing come that strongly. It’s rare when they come to us about very important steps and decisions that affect our future. Many people describe knowing that their spouse would be their husband or wife when they first met or very early on. Lots of people will describe just knowing that they were going to live or move somewhere after only visiting or seeing a place.

We all get those strong feelings in life at some point. There is nothing more wonderful than a strong knowing surrounding a life decision or positive event. You know your daughter is having twins, and she does. You know someone likes you, and the relationship unfolds. You know your project or book will succeed, and it manifests easily. It feels magical to be that aligned.

We also know when there are painful events too—not fun to live, but we can often be way ahead of the game and be more effective dealing with them. We know that someone is not coming home from the hospital this time, so now we can prepare for what’s next instead of being in denial and usually bringing on more stress or crisis. We know that our sudden ache or pain is more serious, so we go to the doctor right away.
