“YOU COULD stay if you like,” Beau said.

Every night for the last week, Niksa had slipped in through the unlocked back door and joined Beau in his bedroom. For hours they lay together, Niksa running his hands over Beau, touching him, exploring him, kissing him, tweaking him, and ultimately setting fire to all the places he touched. Beau had got so fucking close tonight, too. There was something Niksa did with Beau’s nipples, running his tongue over the little nibs and then very gently, very playfully, nipping them, that Beau could “feel” in his cock.

Beau had closed his eyes and charged the feeling as hard as he could, and he imagined bucking up and exploding all over everything. So fucking close.

“What do you mean?” Niksa asked hesitantly. He was sitting on the edge of Beau’s bed, face turned toward the window.

“If you wanted to sleep over tonight… I’ve got a whole lot of bed.”

Niksa looked toward Beau for a moment and then away. “I thought we didn’t do sleeping over. I mean, you always send me away.”

“I was being an asshole. I’m sorry. I’ve never had anyone even want to stay over before, and I’m botching it. You don’t have to stay if you don’t want to, but you should at least let me return the favor.”

Niksa turned fully then, an unhappy look on his face. “I haven’t been able to get you off yet, Beau. I don’t know what favor you’re talking about.”

Beau shook his head. “You’re crazy, kid. You don’t even realize what you’ve done for me, do you?” He patted the empty side of the bed. “C’mere. I want to know more about you, Nicky Meríc.”

Beau wanted Niksa to stay. Wanted Niksa to cuddle into his side, wanted to breathe in his scent, make love some more.

Make… love?

Jesus. His brains really were all scrambled, weren’t they? Was that what happened to a man who went a year and a half without the relief of an orgasm? Did it make him fuzzy and sentimental? ’Cause Beau was feeling pretty damn soft now.

“Like what do you want to know? My favorite band and stuff?”

“Sure,” Beau chuckled as Niksa crawled up beside him in bed.

“I dunno. Candlebox is stuck in the cassette player in my car and I can only listen to Side A. So that tells you how old my car is.”

“You always live here?”

“No. I was born in Croatia, but my parents sent me over when I was two.”

“I was about to ask what that was like, but that wouldn’t make much sense. Have you been back?”

“A couple of times as an adult. It’s beautiful now. Touristy.”

“What do you do for a living?”

“I do cancer research using a certain genus of tropical plant.”

“Wow, that….” Beau blinked. “That’s really amazing.”

“Not really.”

“Actually, it is. I mean, that’s the sort of thing they give out Nobel Prizes for, right?”

Niksa laughed and crinkled his nose. “Oh, yeah, absolutely. Niksa Meríc, awarded the Nobel Prize for taking really exact measurements of pod size and pollen count.
