Sin is called sin because it poisons us and ruins our lives. God gives believers grace and a god-like nature to help them avoid sin. Several Gnostic cults, including the Nicolaitans, Valentinians, Carpocratians, and others, taught people should practice sin in order to prove it had no power over them! This was simply a lie created by Satan to try to destroy them. This error continues to be preached by modern cults like the Children of God and Rajneesh’s Osho Sannyasins.
Children of God vs. Children of the Devil
True children of God, to the best of their ability, try to practice righteousness, which includes loving people enough to witness to them so they may escape hell.
