I really do feel sorry for all of us because it is so easy for the big people to blast some rocks and the water in your well quits pumping or some group like Habitat for Humanity to purchase acreage that no one ever thought could be developed let alone would be and what was lovely about your existence has now become something ugly and crazy and if you protest they try to make you against poor people instead of against the idea that on seven acres of land there will now be 34 houses and the noise and traffic and garbage that go with it and the people who are saying well this is a good idea do not live next to 34 houses which sell for three thousand five hundred dollars while you paid eighty-five thousand and no one will take responsibility for the dry well and the loan you have to assume just to be able to drink water and brush your teeth and cook your food and no one takes responsibility for the quality of your life because the so-called good people are so busy doing good that the fact that your dreams are ruined means nothing and no one takes responsibility for destroying a wetlands because R. Kneck Kracker wants to make a little more money and the fact that you have to hire a lawyer to get him to stop diverting a stream onto your backyard and you have to hire a surveyor to keep him from digging up your backyard and you have to keep your house closed up and your air conditioning on which has run your bill up but no one is responsible for that either means that when you get in your car you already hate the boy holding the construction STOP sign and you run right up to him and if he doesn’t move quickly he will be hurt because anyone in front of your car gets the brunt of everyone in front of your life and I do understand what is called road rage because it’s not about the road it’s about your dreams being destroyed a bit and a bit and a bit everyday and no one will even listen to what you are saying
