How to Create Training Programs

Before you create your training program, one thing you might want to do is survey your list to find out what it is they most want to learn about a certain topic. What are their biggest challenges about a topic? What’s the name they most like? For example, for this book, I surveyed my list to find out the book title they resonated with the most.

Once you know what they’re looking for, name your program something really hot and compelling – something very powerful that makes them want to buy the program just because of the name.

My info product “Make Your Programs Make You Millions,” is already, just by the name alone, very compelling.

One of my programs was named “Coaching Business Rocket Launcher Live” and that wasn’t so hot. Then I thought, “What does this teach people? It teaches people marketing. I’ll name it Coach’s Marketing Mastery Program.”

Then I realized that people don’t really want to learn marketing. They just want to get clients and make money. So instead of it being “Coaching Business Rocket Launcher” or “Coaching Business Marketing Mastery” I decided to call it “Client Attraction and Money Making Mastery.” It’s really about getting clients and getting money and not about the marketing. Marketing is really just a necessary step to get the results.

You want to name your program something compelling.

There are two different kinds of programs you can create. You can create a master class mastery program like “Client Attraction and Money Making Mastery”. It teaches you everything you need to know about that. Or you could teach something that’s more of a specific topic, like my “Free Sessions That Sell” program, that teaches people specifically how to do introductory coaching sessions.

If you’re a weight loss coach, you could create a program on how to lose weight, or you could sell a product specifically on one element, like how to eliminate food cravings. Either way, it’s totally okay. There are some pros and cons to both, but either one is totally cool.

Once you know what the scope of your program is going to be – whether it’s going to be a bigger program or a more self-contained micro-topic – then you can start creating your program.

If you were creating a whole program on weight loss, you’d need to identify the biggest challenges with losing weight. You’d create your program around the steps people would need to follow to overcome those challenges and lose the weight they want.

I need to know what kind of exercise I should be doing. I need to know what kind of food I should be eating (or shouldn’t be eating). I need to know how to eliminate food cravings and handle emotional eating, stress eating, and binge eating. I need to know how to get extra support and join a community of other people who want to lose weight.

Whatever these things are for your topic, you need to figure it out and outline the major steps. If it’s a more micro program like how to eliminate food cravings, maybe a 5 or 7 step process.
