Place des Festivals is brand new, but the immediate area has long been host to a variety of events, such as Montréal en lumière (February) , Les FrancoFolies (June) and the Festival International de Jazz (June-July) , and more recently Luminothérapie (December-January) , the Just for Laughs Festival (July), Nuits d’Afrique (July) , Présence Autochtone/Montréal First Peoples Festival (August) and the Papier contemporary art fair (April) . On a smaller scale, the area has also hosted the outdoor events of the Festival TransAmériques (May-June) and the World Film Festival (August-September) .

Head to the corner of Boulevard De Maisonneuve and Rue De Bleury, then take De Bleury south to Rue Sainte-Catherine.
