• Spray bottle with distilled water

• Coarse steel wool or wire brush

This process lets you use a variety of objects to create a pattern on the image’s surface as you move the pigment around. This is where your artistic voice comes through—don’t be afraid to experiment with different techniques to see what happens!

In addition to the tools and materials used in the basic fresco process above, you will need a few more tools.

To create a digital fresco using the white fresco distressed print transfer process:

1. Prepare your digital image by printing it in reverse on transfer film. Make sure you leave enough trim to use the alignment board procedure described in Chapter 3.

2. Using a spray bottle, lightly mist or sprinkle the inkside (the dull side) of the print with distilled water and allow it to sit for a moment to soften the emulsion (Figure 11.18).
