Benjamin had told me so much to think about. If what he said about his alibi was true, then he’d be off the list. Emily’s list.

Even though he claimed he was with his artist friends, Emily put him on that list for a reason, and the answers to my questions would have to wait until I confronted her at the bar tonight.

But my questions about Cassandra Firbank wouldn’t have to wait if she was in the Palette Café where Goldie said she’d be.

Passing by the picturesque streets, I noticed more charming eateries lining the sidewalk than just the Palette Café.

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee floated on the air, enticing passersby to indulge in a steaming cup of liquid inspiration.

"The Palette's Edge.” I noticed a quaint art supply store that catered to artists of all mediums, offering a wide range of paints, brushes, canvases, and other materials to inspire creativity, based on the display window.

"Mosaic Dreams,” I said, reading the sign of the captivating boutique.

I put my hands up around my eyes as I peeked into the window and saw the shop specialized in mosaic art. Intricately designed pieces adorned the walls and shelves. This shop celebrated the beauty of this ancient art form, from colorful mosaic tiles to handcrafted mosaic sculptures.

It would be a fantastic place to get someone a gift, but today wasn’t the day for that.

Sculpture Haven was the next shop I passed. It appeared to be a gallery showcasing stunning sculptures in various styles and materials. Boasting everything from elegant marble statues to whimsical contemporary creations, this shop displayed the mastery of sculptors from near and far. Definitely different from Ceramic Celebrations located at the seaside, which was more for tourists and locals rather than sculptors to do pottery and clay.

“Oh,” I squealed when I passed Artistry Blooms. I couldn’t help myself. I loved a good bouquet of fresh flowers, and walking through the shop wouldn’t take me any time.

Artistry Blooms was a floral bouquet with a creative twist, where imaginative floral arrangements were crafted like works of art, ranging from vibrant bouquets to intricate floral sculptures. This shop offered a fresh take on botanical beauty.

“Hello, let me know if I can help you with anything.” The young woman greeted me as soon as I walked in. She was working with a customer but made sure she addressed me.

I nodded and smiled.

The fragrant embrace of nature enveloped me, transporting me into a world of vibrant colors and delicate aromas. The air was alive with the sweet scent of freshly cut flowers, their perfumes mingling and weaving an olfactory tapestry that awakened my senses. It was the most home-like smell I’d experienced since moving here.

The floral shop’s interior greeted me with an explosion of colors, as if a painter's palette had come to life. Lush greenery adorned the walls, cascading down in a beautiful display of nature's grace. Pots of blooming flowers were scattered throughout the space, their vibrant hues captivating the eye and uplifting the spirit.
