Distances in Alaska are measured in miles, just as in the rest of the United States. In lieu of kilometer posts at five-kilometer intervals along the road as in Canada, there will now be mileposts at one-mile intervals. Again, some of these get knocked down every year, so don’t be distressed if some are missing.
