Chapter 9: Into the Kingdom of Men.

It was great to be out of the cold and into the warmth of the plains Jitz thought. They had all removed their armour and Scotty and him were wearing their leather jerkins with the iron circlets, the elves and Wildthings the green forest capes over their figure-hugging green suits. All remained heavily armed and were hyper vigilant for emergent threats. Tlincia with Heitll, riding ahead of the group and Jax and Nomia out on the western flank, between them and the Great Forest. They made a good pace throughout the orb, meeting no one on the road south. They chose to set up camp off the road and settled down for the night, taking up the same duties as they had the night before. The night was warm and the sky cloudless with a full lunar. They had lit a large enough fire, to cook food, keep animals at bay, but small enough not to be seen from afar. Everyone sat around the fire bar the sentries who were out of sight. Talking through the last couple of orbs and filling in Legana on facts that she was not sure about, answering Lendolyn’s questions when asked. Vino was being drunk, but everyone remained sharp. After the King and Queen retired into the caravan, that had now been converted for sleeping, one by one the others disappeared into the dark to find their bed rolls. Jitz noticing Tlincia and Heitll wandering off together. They were very close them two, he thought and then blushed. Settling himself down to sleep, out of noise range of Scotty's thunderous snoring, Jitz was joined by Endoween who placed her bed roll directly next to his. Jitz, not knowing what to say just lay down. Endoween standing above him smiled and giggled slightly. She straddled his body over his waist and dropped her cloak onto Jitzs’ head, Jitz hastily removing it to see what she was up to next, placing it on her bed roll. The elven forest suit leaves nothing to the imagination as he had once noticed before. The lunar light showed every curve of Endoween, standing above him, she realised and was pleased, that he was admiring her closely, and aware that he was more than nervous at her closeness. She giggled again, not wanting to press the situation too far she climbed into her bed roll, with her back pressed up against him and either instantly fell asleep or pretended to sleep. Jitz’s brain and his hormones were in overdrive. Endoween was stunning and he longed to touch her. He also felt that he was being played with, which annoyed him a tad. They awoke next morning facing each other, their faces no more than half an arm’s length apart. Endoween who had obviously awoken first staring at Jitz slowly waking up. Jitz smiled at her and Endoween pressed closer, kissing him on the mouth for a long time before getting up, rerolling her bed roll, replacing her cloak and heading towards the fire for a warm drink.
