In a Harvard study, they found that leaders seldom use the word failure. Instead, they use the term learning experiences.

They say “This was a valuable learning experience” or “This was an expensive learning experience.” Or often they will say “This was a painful learning experience.” But they never used the word failure.

In business today, to be successful, you must be prepared to have an enormous number of learning experiences to find the right product or service combination and to do the necessary things to sell effectively in an increasingly competitive market.

Four Steps to Success

The process to succeed in business today is simple. It has four parts:

1.Decide what you want to do.

2.Take action immediately.

3.Fail and learn quickly.

4.Try it again, over and over, until you succeed.

No Failure, Only Feedback

The fact is that there is no such thing as failure, only feedback. You learn to succeed by failing, so you should not fear it. In fact, you should look forward to every failure experience, knowing that each one is moving you closer to the success you desire.

Journalist Dorothea Brande wrote, “Act as if it were impossible to fail, and it shall be.”

Mark Victor Hansen echoed this thought when he said, “Whatever you want wants you.”

From now on, whatever you want, go for it! Take a chance. Move out of your comfort zone. Try, try again, and then try once more.

Pick Up the Pace

The faster you fail, the faster you will succeed. And even better, the more often you fail, the more courage and confidence you will develop until you finally become unstoppable. Nothing will stop you from getting started and keeping on.
