Detox your life

Feed your mind and heart uplifting ideas and images.

Just as the body can be overwhelmed by environmental pollutants and dietary indiscretions, life in general can feel toxic, sluggish, and blocked if you don’t step back from time to time to detoxify your mind and soul. A mental/spiritual detox is indicated when you’re in a chronic bad mood, very little seems exciting, or you’re tired in a way that’s different from how you feel after a long hike or a productive day’s work. It’s a weariness that makes you want to say, “What’s the use?”

You certainly want to feed your body good food and pure water and detox it by practicing the suggestions in chapter 30. However, it’s just as important to feed your mind and heart uplifting ideas and images. When you do this, it clears out the debris of difficulties, disappointments, and unpleasant encounters.
