All nearby celestial objects will be bathed in heavy doses of radiation of all wavelengths—especially the higher energy wavelengths that include ultraviolet, X rays, and gamma rays. The shock wave brought on by this radiation will fragment and dissipate all interstellar gas clouds in the area. Planets and moons, after getting their surfaces vaporized, will be ejected into interstellar space. The varied chemical composition of the exploding star will contribute to the interstellar enrichments of elements heavier than the primordial hydrogen and helium. Future generations of stars and planets and moons will then condense out of this enriched interstellar soup to form celestial objects and entities of increasing chemical diversity such as life.
