Chapter Nine

Pyro

Seven hours after Roe vanished, we had a lead. One of the men on my list, one I’d thought to be dead, had kidnapped my woman. Thomas Parker. I doubted he’d come this far on his own. He had to have help locally. We just hadn’t figured out who or why. Although, after Roe’s past and mine, something told me a church was involved again.

Now we had the who, and a general area of where we could find her. The problem was narrowing it down further. They’d taken Roe to a warehouse district two towns over, and the place had a dozen buildings. She could have been in any of them. Even though my club tried to keep me home, I’d insisted on going. Same for Marauder and Iron. The three of us, along with Kraken and Brick made our way to the location.

Wizard and the hackers were trying to pinpoint her exact position and would keep in touch. We’d all put our phones on silent but kept an eye on them for any messages. I’d taken my Challenger, not knowing if Roe would be in any sort of condition to ride on a bike. The others took their motorcycles. We all stopped far enough away anyone in the buildings wouldn’t hear our engines.

“You ready for this?” Iron asked.

“Yeah. Let’s get Roe and head home,” I said.

“Is it true you nearly killed the man who has her?” Marauder stopped beside me. “I’m assuming you had a good reason, but I don’t think he’s going to give her up easily.”

“The fucker was a pedophile masquerading as a devout Christian. He’d touch the kids, then brush it off as an accident, or say they were making up stories. The others in the church that night were every bit as wicked. They deserved what happened to them,” I said. “Those weren’t the only rotten people in that place. I was going to burn the building even if it was empty. That church destroyed my family. If I could do it all over again, the only thing I’d do differently is make sure none of them made it out alive.”

There were some crimes that pushed me over the edge. Anything to do with children or harming women. Unless the woman deserved it. I knew evil came in all genders.

Iron nodded. “Sounds like we need to make sure that fucker goes six feet under this time. I’ll help you put him there.”

“What if there’s a woman involved?” Marauder asked. “Not sure how I feel about hurting one. If she hasn’t harmed Roe, then…”

“If she’s part of this, and wasn’t coerced, then she’s every bit as guilty as the man,” Iron said. “Who knows what she’s done to her? Not all women are like Roe. You know that as well as I do. As far as I’m concerned, she’s no saint. I don’t care what gender she is. She hurts my little sister and I’m going to make sure she pays for it.”

I popped the trunk on my car and took out my bag.
