Dear Ms. Smith:
Please accept the attached application and accompanying documents as an expression of interest in the advertised position for Attorney-Advisor (General Counsel). I believe I would be an asset to your organization for several reasons.
First, my diverse background crosscuts many different organizations, including government agencies, as well as various industries and all types of individual and corporate clients. Second, the combination of my expert knowledge of the banking industry, contracts, and general corporate and business transactions will provide your agency with a frontline perspective on complex issues involving the department, having represented clients for cases in which criminal investigations or illegal narcotics were involved. Finally, my strong commitment to public service, as evidenced by my service in the U.S. Navy and my previous five years as a federal attorney, are testament to my desire to serve my government and country to the best of my ability.
My relevant qualifications include the following:
⢠Significant experience in litigation involving various elements of corporate finance, such as loan workouts, corporate/personal bankruptcies, foreclosures, enforcement of loan guarantees, notes, and other financial instruments of failed institutions (2014â2019).
⢠Legal advice and counsel to executive clients and financial institutions on preparing internal policies and procedures for complying with federal bank, thrift, and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) statutes and regulations (2010â2014).
⢠Subject-matter knowledge and expertise on a wide a variety of legislation, such as Sarbanes-Oxley Act, evolving Homeland Security acts, and federal financial guidance.
I am very interested in exploring this new challenge and would welcome an opportunity to meet with you to discuss meaningful contributions I can make to the organization. I look forward to contacting you in the near future to determine the status of my candidacy.
Sincerely,
John Doe
