Tip #10: Splurge for a Late Checkout on Sunday
As mentioned, we like to extend our camping weekends by staying three nights instead of two. But when we can’t do that, we like to splurge for a late checkout on Sunday. If another camper hasn’t reserved your site for Sunday (or any day), campground owners will often let you check out late for a small fee. We have payed anywhere from $5 to $20 for a late checkout, and we are often pleasantly surprised to find that some campgrounds let you stay late for free. Especially if you ask nicely!
