CHAPTER 14

Zack

“You’re not very good at sharing,” I grumbled, eyeing Violet on Noah’s lap as they sat at the kitchen table. He’d had her in his arms since I’d woken nearly two hours ago. He was like a feral dog whenever I tried to get close to her.

I knew some shit had transpired earlier this morning because they were both gone when I’d opened my eyes. I’d gotten up and went to check on them and heard him fucking her in the shower.

I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t rubbed one out while listening to her soft moans as he fucked the pleasure from her sexy body.

But that was hours ago, and I was a greedy prick who wanted more.

Riley looked over at me, a frown on his face. I knew he’d made out with Violet last night. I’d heard but hadn’t bothered them, hoping he’d make the leap and sink into her body. He hadn’t, but he’d definitely laid some hot groundwork. That was simply how Riley was though. So between that and this morning, I was dying to be inside her again.

Noah shot me a shit-eating grin and a wink, making me sigh.

I sat back in my chair at the table and looked to Riley. “We could fuck.”

He snorted. “Or you could fuck yourself.”

“I appreciate your solution. You’ve always been great with coming up with them.” I looked back to Violet snuggled up against Noah and decided I’d just go wash my cereal bowl and mope in the kitchen alone, so I rose from my seat.

Much to my displeasure, it only took a moment to wash my bowl. I stared out the window into the dense forest. There was so much snow on the ground it made the massive trees look short.

“Zack?” Violet’s soft voice pulled me away from the vision of me fucking her in the snow.

“Hey,” I said, turning to her.

She twisted her fingers, her gray eyes wide.

“I, uh, don’t know how to act.”

I blinked at her. “What?”

“With you. And Riley.” She gestured behind her to where the dining room was and winced. “I, um, think I’m one of those people who need to constantly be told something is happening to believe it. Whatever we had or have makes me nervous.”

I stepped toward her.

“What do you think we have? Or had?”

“A really good night?” she answered weakly.

“So just a night?” My heart deflated. That would explain why she wasn’t on my lap this morning.

“I mean. . . I suck at this. Is it more? Noah said it was. I just. . . I’m really not sure what I should be doing right now—”

I closed the space between us and crushed my lips to hers, kissing her deeply. She submitted easily to me, parting her lips and allowing me to sweep my tongue against hers.

I broke the kiss off abruptly and stared down at her, my hands cradling her delicate face.

“You should be doing what makes you happy, Violence. If that’s me, then your panties should be off and your legs should be spread for me on this counter.
