I’m not entirely sure what happened. At first, I felt overwhelmed, burdened by grief and fear that engulfed me, and I was almost sure that Thirion was going to gag me if I didn’t shut up. He looked panicked as I cried, but he only comforted me until this feeling swept over me.

Now... I’m floating.

A huge smile spreads across my face as I tilt my head back and stare up at Thirion. I’m not sure when I ended up wrapped in his arms, but I’m almost horizontal I realize as I twist to look at him. His platinum hair shines in the light cast through the window, and I giggle as I reach up to touch him.

When’s the last time I’ve heard that sound come out of my mouth, I wonder. It feels so easy now as I laugh again, tracing my hand down his jaw, and I can’t even remember why I would ever feel anything different.

Thirion’s bright eyes gauges me as his hand catches mine, and I notice that there is light flowing down his fingertips. I watch in wonder as he runs them down my arms, making this calm feeling rush over me even more intensely.

I chuckle again, moving in his arms to watch the pattern of light he is casting across my skin, but he’s not smiling. He looks too serious for how weightless I feel, and I intertwine my fingers with his, mesmerized by the way I capture the light between our palms.

I pull our hands together toward his face, illuminating his jaw line with the light and tracing along it. He doesn’t stop me; instead, his violet eyes seem to burn brighter as he watches me, and I start to feel a little self-conscious under the intense scrutiny of his gaze.

The feeling immediately flows out, though, and I keep playing with the light patterns. They’re the only thing I am concerned with, as if all my other problems fell away as this calmness flooded in. It’s something I’ve never known, the ease at which I can relax in Thirion’s arms and forget all my worries.

I don’t even feel like myself anymore as I shift up to straddle Thirion, twining my other hand in his. He doesn’t move, his jaw tightening as he remains stone still. He doesn’t openly ogle or touch me, and that only excites me more as I pull his other hand in mine, staring at where they are clasped.

Light bleeds out between our palms, an example of his power. It’s so absurd to even consider that sentence. This man, who I am sitting on, exhibits such strong power that it flows freely from him, and he’s letting me do whatever I want right now.

Not only do I not feel like myself. I’m starting to think I must be dreaming.

I drag my eyes slowly away from his light to his violet eyes, and swirling there, I swear I see an intense feeling that I never thought would be focused on me. He watches me so carefully, almost with reverence, I swear it.
