D: Can the guardian of the Library give us any information on creatures like the Loch Ness Monster? Are these creatures real?

John: Yes, they are real. They are remnants of primitive life forms that used to live on the Earth during the age of the reptilian.

D: You mean like the dinosaur?

J: Yes. There are creatures both in the sea, on the land, and even in the air, that man hasn't discovered yet. They took refuge in certain areas, and their lives were prolonged. And they reproduce.

D: I'm thinking of one in particular, the one that is called the Loch Ness Monster.

J: There are about seven in the Loch Ness tank. (Laugh) That's what he says, "tank". (Laugh) And they have reproduced over time. They live for quite a long time, hundreds of years. They don't reproduce that often. The cold water has something to do with that.

D: How do they reproduce?

J: As most animals do.

D: I mean, is it mammal or does it lay eggs or what?

J: They lay eggs under water. It takes a long time for them to be harvested, to grow into an adult. It takes almost two years, it seems. There are predators, fish and things like that, that have to be watched. But they have a lair underneath one of the cliffs of the Loch Ness.

D: Are they also air-breathing, or are they strictly aquatic?

J: They're basically aquatic, but they can emerge for brief periods of time. Similar to the way flying fish are able to fly up and then go back into the water. They have that ability. They do not need to breathe air. They get their oxygen supply through water, for they have gills.

D: There have been tales of them coming on the land. Does this ever happen?

J: Occasionally. It has happened in the past and it could happen again.

D: There have been tales of seeing them around the lake.

J: Oh, they've been seen. They do emerge out of the lake. But they elude capture because they are very intuitive and depend on their instincts.

D: There have been tales of seeing their images on sonar. Did it actually happen?

J: Yes. They are in existence. There are seven of them right now that live in Loch Ness, in a cave that's underwater on a cliffy side. They hunt fish, and they're big.

D: Yes. Some people have taken pictures of them when they emerged from the water. Is there any other specific place where there are many of them?

J: There are two or three in a lake in Africa. There used to be twelve. There are two in the tropical Amazonian rain forest, in a lake off the Amazon River. And in southeast Asia there are four in the rivers.

D: Are these creatures dangerous?

J: To a degree, no, they're not dangerous. But they do eat fish and could mistake a person for a fish in water. Especially the larger types.

D: You also said there were other creatures from this time period that have survived?

J: Yes.
