IN THE BRILLIANT US hit comedy The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon Cooper, the genius scientist whose life seems to be ruled by logic and scientific principles, does have an emotional side – he has to sit at the end of the sofa – his special favourite place. For Sheldon, no other seat will do. He tries to justify why he needs to sit in this place and no other by claiming that it gives him a perfect view of the television, that it is not too hot, not too cold and not draughty; but the real reason why he likes sitting there is that he just feels comfortable there, and he can relax. It is his favourite place.
