Q:

The filming of what World War I aviation movie resulted in the death of several stunt pilots?

A:

Hell’s Angels. This 1930 American film by director Howard Hughes centers on combat pilots in World War I. Hughes, a pilot himself, and pilot Harry Parry designed many of the aerial stunts used in the dramatic dogfighting scenes. These turned out to be quite controversial: while executing one of the air stunts Hughes was injured, and several others pilots were accidentally killed during filming. The movie is also famous for helping launch the career of the female lead, 18-year-old Jean Harlow.
