In our treatment we should distinguish between the hysterical condition and the hysterical fit. The latter is by far the more easily controlled as you would suppose.

Asa foetida will help in hysteria of young women complaining of a goneempty feeling in the epigastrium, which is not a pain, but “it hurts them.” Pulsations in the same place, which come on about eleven o’clock and make them feel faint.

For the nervous condition:

General increased sensibility: Ignatia amara, Cypripedium pubescens, Sepia and Stramonium

Heightened sensitiveness: Cocculus indicus, Stramoniumim, Platina, Pulsatilla nigricans, Aconitum napellus, and Nux vomica

Irritability and impatience: Gelsemium sempervirens, Sepia, Pulsatilla nigricans, Nux vomica., Hyoscyamus niger

Variable disposition: Ignatia amara, Pulsatalla nigricans, Stramonium, Moschus, Platina, Sepia

Constant brooding: Nux vomica, Ignatia amara, Sepia

Constant and excessive dread: Aconitum napellus, Pulsatilla nigricans, Platina

Fidgety expectation: Valeriana officinalis

Persistent silence, or constant moaning and lamentation: Nux vomica
